How long until I notice a difference?
Iron rebuilds gradually rather than overnight. Take one tablespoon daily and give it consistent use over several weeks. If you're working with a healthcare provider on your iron levels, they can tell you what to expect for your situation.
Why shouldn't I take iron with calcium?
Why shouldn't I take iron with calcium?
Calcium competes with iron for absorption, so taking them at the same time makes both less effective. Space them a couple of hours apart — for example, hemma in the morning and your calcium in the evening. Vitamin C works in iron's favour, which is why we include 60 mg of it in every serving.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Iron needs change substantially during pregnancy and while nursing, and the right amount is specific to you. Please talk to your doctor or midwife before starting hemma or any supplement during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Will it upset my stomach?
Will it upset my stomach?
hemma uses ferrous bisglycinate, a gentler chelated form than the ferrous sulfate found in most iron pills. It can be taken with or without food. If you have a sensitive stomach, start with food and see how you feel.
What does it taste like?
What does it taste like?
Fruit, not medicine. hemma comes in mixed berry, strawberry and orange, flavoured to soften the mineral edge that iron naturally carries. It goes down easily, with no metallic aftertaste hanging around afterwards — and if you're particularly sensitive to taste, stir it into juice or a smoothie and you won't notice it at all.
How do I take it?

One tablespoon (15 mL) daily — straight, or mixed into juice or a smoothie. Each serving gives you 18 mg of iron, 60 mg of vitamin C and 15 mcg of vitamin B12, with no added sugar. Shake well before use and refrigerate after opening. Each 16 fl oz bottle is a 30-day supply at the pregnancy serving.

How does the subscription work?
Choose a refill schedule on the product page instead of a one-time purchase. Your card is charged when you order and again each period at the discounted price, and we email you before every renewal. Refills arrive monthly, and you can skip a delivery or change the date any time if you are still stocked up.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Can I cancel my subscription?
Any time, from your account — no phone call, no email, and no explanation needed. You can also skip a single delivery or push your next date back if you're still stocked up. Cancelling takes effect on your next unshipped order.
What is your returns policy?
What is your returns policy?
Unopened, factory-sealed bottles can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price. Because hemma is a consumable health product, we can't accept returns of opened bottles. If a bottle arrives damaged, leaking or with a broken seal, email us a photo and we'll replace or refund it in full — no need to send it back.

If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, talk to your healthcare provider before use. Keep out of reach of children — accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6.
